Definition
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that targets and weakens the immune system by destroying CD4 cells, making the body more susceptible to infections and certain cancers. Without treatment, HIV can progress to AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome), significantly impairing the immune system.
