Tenancy by the Entirety
Definition
Tenancy by the Entirety is a form of concurrent property ownership available only to married couples, where both spouses hold equal and undivided interest in the property with the right of survivorship. This type of ownership ensures that upon the death of one spouse, the surviving spouse automatically inherits the entire property, and the property cannot be sold or encumbered without the consent of both parties.
